The greatest joy for us is to see our graduate, Jerson, walking out the leadership that he felt called to at Christ For The Nations, Colombia.   Jerson is the son of a missionary in the Amazons.   He is dedicated to working with the ministry his father founded.   In December, he led a team of 7 students who traveled three days in bus and jeep, and 11 hours in boat to arrive at their destination.   Living in the extreme poverty of the community, the team slept on mattresses on the floor and were awakened at night by the sound of rats, bats, and insects.   The students said that the hardships they faced were nothing compared to the joy of being able to serve the community.   The team brought hope and smiles to the remote indigenous groups.   They shared the gospel in a fresh, real way to the indigenous people and saw miracles happen each night. Two of our Venezuelan graduates led a team of 29 students and graduates to minister to their home town in Venezuela.   The team had an incredible journey.   They went through about 15 detention stations that are kind of like TSA except the officers are corrupt and ask for bribes or steal money or products.   The biggest miracle the team witnessed was that none of their supplies were stolen and they did not have to pay any bribes.   Praise God!!!   They must have had angels around them. The team had two aspects to the trip.    One was “Outside” where they ministered to the people who were outside the church.    The other was “inside” where they ministered alongside the ministries and churches that were already doing the work in Venezuela.  Juan  Miguel and Sanel said that they did not want to arrive in their hometown and try and be heroes.    They wanted to bring encouragement and hope to the workers who had stay...

Fourth semester student, Juan Armenta, has an incredible story about how God gave him a dream for a business when he wasn’t even looking for it.  Juan came to CPN because a friend encouraged him to. He felt the Lord leading him to go through a season of preparation and he wanted to walk in obedience. He says his experience hasn’t been easy- as he is much older than the majority of the students in the dorm- but it has been a great learning experience for him to be humble and walk in obedience. During his first semester in May of 2017 the Lord began to speak to him during his devotional. He began to hear the words: “coffee, heaven, from the mountain to your table, colors, blue, black, and platinum.” He began to sense that God was speaking to him about a business for coffee but he had no idea what that meant or how to start!! In October we were able to have a very special time with the kids from the school next door. We actually invited the students from the school to come to CPN during our worship time. It was a fun time and the students really seemed to engage during the worship. We have been feeling for some time now the importance and necessity to connect with the schools in our area. We don’t want to be an institute behind bars that only takes care of the healthy, we want to reach out to the people in our neighborhood and area and make an greater impact. Later that same day some of our students went to the school and did a skit about forgiveness. This created an atmosphere where the kids were able to open up and share about their stories.  We have now had 3 different opportunities to speak at the schools and do activities with the kids and we are looking forward to having more opportunities in the future. A team of CPN students went on a mission trip to Germany from June 20-July 8, 2018. In total there were 12 that participated in the project and we are amazed to see what God did through them. They said that their experience in Europe was very different because they needed to create friendships before they were able to actually minister to people. Open evangelism isn’t as commonly seen there and people tend to be more closed off to Christianity without a friendship being established first. The team was able to minister to refugees from other countries. They actually did an outreach called Bless the Block where they cleaned the building where the refugees live. They said this was a very eye opening experiencing; it humbled them and Juan Miguel says, “It was honestly one of the most disgusting things I’ve done because the place was so dirty, but I know that we were loving the people by doing this.” The group ministered to refugees from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iran, and Af...

Daniel Moreno is a graduate from Christ for the Nations, Colombia. He says, “I heard about CPN through my cousin, Jessica, who was studying at the time. I went to the school for a week to see what it was like and after that I knew that I needed to go through the program- I felt a nudge in my spirit.” During his time in CPN, God revealed to Daniel many of His attributes- His love, His mercy, His forgiveness, His grace... In CPN he decided to dedicate his life to serving Jesus and to focus on the things above. After graduating in December, 2016, he started working in full time ministry in the foundation called Open Arms Ministry. This foundation is located on a farm in the mountains and the goal is a restoration process with boys who are at risk of being on the street. There are currently 11 boys from ages 8-16 and Daniel is responsible for taking care of the boys, teaching them character, discipline, good habits, along with helping them with their education.
