Joy came to Medellín March 19, 2018 to complete her 15 week field school. Joy washing kids' feet in Manantiales She had the opportinity of participating in a mission trip with Church on the Hill during spring break of 2017 and afterwards felt the need to come back for a longer period of time- in her words, “A week was not enough.” She took steps of faith and God opened the door for us to receive her!! A third group of our students went to a community in Medellín called Manantiales. In this community there are many families that live in shacks- many of these families were driven out of their homes due to the invasion of the FARC years ago and they didn’t have the means to restablish themselves.  The first day of the mission, the team provided a medical brigade alongside the organization Visión Global, however, the main goal of this mission was doing a spring break camp for the kids and youth of the community. On a daily basis they would pick up the kids, take them to the foundation, and the mission team did activites, lessons, and games with   the children and the moms.  There was a time where the students began to minister and pray over the kids. There was a lot of inner healing that happened during this time, many kids were able to be free from pain they had been carrying for a long time.   Seeing the students of CP...

Another group of students had the opportunity to go to an indigenous community in La Guajira over spring break. This indigenous community is very separated from society and they have a limited supply of water and food. There are no bathrooms, no showers, and very few hours of electricity. The students were able to live as the people of the village the week they were there and they learned a lot about the true importance of life and following Jesus instead of focusing on material things. During  the trip, they did church services every night and were with the women, men, and children doing different activities and workshops throughout the day. The students were able to close the gap of cultural differences and create trust with the people of Guajira. In the workshop with the men, the students taught about the importance of honoring their wives and many of the men gave a flower to their wife for the first time. Over spring break in CPN our first year students went out and did missions in 3 different cities- Segovia, La Guajira, and Manantiales. Here is a summary of the team from Segovia: The team that went to Segovia was able to work in unity throughout the whole trip. God was so faithful in bringing them together, providing above and beyond what they had budgeted for, and making divine connections with the people they were ministering to. This team is now like family! The first 2 days they served in the local churches in Segovia. In these churches all the women must be in skirts and that was very different for many of them, but it was a good experience. Many of the students were able to step out and preach for the first time! At Christ for the Nations, Colombia, one of our values is training up the youth of this generation to go out and be a light in the communities, citities, and nations where God calls them. Our mission is to empower the next generation of Latinos leaders to  bring the Gospel to the nations. This is why we love to tell stories of our students and graduates to show the work God is doing and how He has used CPN to further His Kingdom. A graduate of ours (we’ll call her Melissa in the following story to protect her identity) finished her studies at CPN in 2011. During her time here, she was able to really focus on the Lord and dive deep into His word and grow in her prayer walk with Him.   One day there was a time of prayer that Pastor Jerry was leading and she began to pray for her nation, Colombia. Second year student, Sofía, has been a translator for Freshwind ministry here in Medellín for the past year and a half. She has been serving and volunteering her time leading and translating for teams that pass through the foundation ministering to the children.   Recently a team came to Medellín to minister with Randy Clark in several churches and ministries in the area. Sofi was the main translator for the trip. They were at a service and there was a woman who had not been  able to move her arms for 10 years. They prayed and declared healing over her and the woman started to move her arms!! She began to cry and thank God for healing her. This is just one of many healing stories that happened while the students were translating for this team.  We love seeing our students step out and bring Jesus’ love to others. The Best Way to Spend Christmas!!!! Miguel Angel spent his Christmas living the life modeled by Christ. He led his church on a trip to Lloró (The city’s name means “Cried”), Chocó, Colombia to minister to the children who wouldn’t have celebrated Christmas otherwise.    The church team brought food, presents, many activities, and the gospel to celebrate the birth of Christ.   What is better than celebrating Christmas with 400 impoverished children alongside 18 members of your church?!
