Amazons 2017 - Making Lasting Impact
The goal is to make a long-term impact in the region and in
the lives of these next gen leaders.
Here are some of the results.
Problem: In Puerto Alegre several people have gotten sick from drinking river water and recently a child died from drinking the water.
Solution: The team raised finances and installed 22 water tanks to collect clean rain water.
Solution: A youth congress for the young people in
the communities. The CPN students
invited young people from several communities.
They provided all the meals for 100 young people and taught them how to live passionately for Christ. Some of
the students traveled a half a day on the river to get to the congress. All left with a new passion for Christ.
Problem: Pastor Martin, a Colombian who moved his
family from Bogota to the Amazons, trains the pastors in the region. He needed a place where he could train and
minister to the indigenous leaders and prepare them to be missionaries in the region.
Solution: The team brought materials and did
work to prepare for Phase 2 of the construction of a mission sending base for indigenous leaders.
Other results:
Jerson, whose parents are missionaries in the Ecuador Amazons went on the trip. His time ministering to young people confirmed his personal call to full time ministry in the Amazons.
Gloria is a pastor’s daughter from Venezuela. Coming from a country living in chaos, she
found the peace of God ministering to many who live a simple life.
Miguel experienced his first cross-cultural mission trip. He touched many lives as he shared the Word of God.
Monica is a Ticuna indian. Her father is a community leader. She just finished her first semester of studies with CPN and went on the mission trip with the team. She was able to demonstrate her newly developed leadership skills in the youth congress (she is pictured sharing the Word in the picture of the youth congress above)
