CHRIST FOR THE NATIONS Praise Report

Image
Good News!!!   We have an  incredible  student body.  They are hungry to learn sound theology but also to develop solid character.  We have encouraged an atmosphere of accountability where the students are able to talk about their weaknesses and temptations and even of their failures and feel that they are safe and will receive support in overcoming the problem areas.  The students recognize sin and they don’t desire to continue in it so they seek help.   We hope they are developing a habit of accountability that they will continue through their lives.  One of the main reasons given for so many fallen leaders has been that  they thought they could overcome their problems   by themselves.  If they had had a mentor or an accountability partner who could pray and encourage them and give them tools to freedom, maybe they would still be in the ministry today.  We are happy that our students have been vulnerable and are learning to take off their masks. Other Great News!!!  We are g

SEX TRADE INDUSTRY Praise Report

Image
Good News!!!     Cara was able to raise the funds needed to receive training in Quito for ministry to women involved in the sex industry.  Other Great News!!!    God provides more than enough.  Not only did she raise enough for herself but for 3 others to receive the training.  It was incredible.  They learned the new ways the pimps work, they learned how to minister to young women who are very  deceived, and they learned how pornography is an addiction and how it has contributed to the growth of the sex industry even into the young children.  As the trainer said, if there were no demand, there would be no need for the workers.  The pornography industry is one of the fastest growing and one of the most prosperous industries now.  We want to be part of the answer. Cara has a team put together to make a plan on how we can help through prevention, education, informing, as well as forming safe homes for young girls that want to leave the industry.  Pray for wisdom.

VENEZUELA Praise Report

Good News!!!    Praise God for the graduates that are now ministering in Venezuela.  One of the graduates who stands out is Milbi Yelena.  She (like most of the Venezuelan students) did not want to return to her country but she was obedient to God.  Today she is the academic director at a worship institute.  She is very respected and fulfilling her call.  Bryce and Marcela (our son and daughter in law) just got back from ministering at a youth conference in Venezuela.  Two days before traveling the borders were closed between Colombia and Venezuela.  The other guest speakers for the conference were canceling as Bryce and Marcela were looking for alternative routes to get into the country.  They were there and ministered and brought life and hope.  Venezuela is going through very difficult times as Maduro is exercising excessive authority.  We have been told that he is exporting Colombians who are married to Venezuelans and not allowing the Venezuelans to leave.  There is much animo

AMAZONS Praise Report

Good News!!!    Praise God!  After a great trip in July led by Cara, one of our graduates led a trip with a team from the US to the same communities.  We are nurturing the relationships in a couple of communities to promote long lasting change.  The goal is to plant a church in one of the communities (where the students had prayed for the witchdoctor) and in the other community, help the church make a significant impact on the community. Other great news!!!   We have been praying for scholarship money for some Ticuna Indigenous people to study at the CPN Bible school and we just received a donation for two students.  A couple will be coming in January.  Their names are Margaret and Carlos.  Margaret had applied to the school 4 years ago but was not able to study.  Now she is married and will be able to study with her husband to be prepared to be pastors.  We are really encouraged to have pastoral candidates.  Not only will they learn solid theology but they will be mentored and al

Praying With Witch Doctor

Praying With Witch Doctor The CPN Amazon Team had the opportunity to share with a witch doctor.  We had the honor to be able to pitch our mosquito nets in the chief’s home at the community called San Francisco, a community with no church.  As the team was finishing up eating dinner and getting ready to do a public time of worship and prayer at the indigenous community’s soccer field, a girl from the team expressed having nausea and weakness and fell to the ground.  Right away, the team's doctor ran next to her and started checking her vitals.  She began motioning towards her throat and trying to say “I can’t breath, something is chocking me”.  The doctor said there was nothing blocking her airway.  The entire team stood up in prayer, fighting an unseen battle.  As the attack seemed to lesson, the chief peered into the room we were in because of all the commotion we were making.  He gave his explanation for what was happening by saying, “all the good people of this community do

Amazons 2015

AMAZONS 2015 After months of preparation,  the 29 team members flew down to Leticia, Colombia to begin their 10 day trip.  The team went to two communities, an indigenous community, Zaragoza, that has received mission teams in the past, but unfortunately did not receive the correct God-following example and a smaller community, San Francisco,  that currently no church where the team began the process of researching the place, culture, history, and economics to eventually develop  a church there.     If we could sum up the trip in one phrase it would be, “WE WERE GOD’S ANSWERS TO PRAYERS”     Two out of the many stories we could tell are moments that challenged us as a team.   The first happened the first day arriving to Zaragoza, the leaders Cara and Michele sat down with the present pastor of the community to discuss the work the team would do.  Being so deep in the jungle,  there was no way to communicate with the pastor before hand.  In this meeting,  the girls bega

A Night With the King... A student project to reach out to exploited street girls

Students beautifying the street girls A Night With The King The Christ for the Nation's students have shown how they go above and beyond just a simple project.  Every year Christ for the Nations offers a practical class on dreaming, writing down the vision, sharing the vision, and executing it.  For the past year, the students have felt a burning desire to help the “unlovable” and “undesirable” to society: the homeless and sex-workers.  With the desire to show God’s love to the broken world, they designed an event called “A Night with the King”.  The idea was simple but glorious.  They wanted to have a space to fix up sex-workers hair, make-up, nails, and new clothes and prepare them for a nice meal and a special word shared.  After dreaming this idea, one thing after another began to work out.  The rooftop of a girl’s foundation was offered, and then a catering company offered 60 banquet dinners, a large quantity of girls offered their beauty products and skills, and then a
